  • Providing day-to-day support to pupils with varying care and learning needs.

  • Helping with routines, transitions, and personalised activities.

  • Encouraging communication, independence, and confidence.

  • Working closely with teachers and support staff to follow clear plans and consistent approaches.

  • Offering calm guidance during more challenging moments and celebrating progress as it happens.

What we’re looking for

  • Someone caring, patient, and ready to support young people who may need extra help.

  • A calm attitude and the ability to build positive relationships.

  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn new approaches.

  • Experience in care or SEND is welcome but not essential. The right attitude matters most.

What you’ll receive from Protocol

  • Weekly PAYE pay with no umbrella companies.

  • Free CPD, including training in SEND, behaviour support, safeguarding, and wellbeing.

  • Ongoing guidance from a consultant who understands specialist settings in the local area.

  • Opportunities to grow within the sector and explore long-term career pathways.
