If you’re someone who brings patience, kindness and steady support to every day, this role could be a brilliant fit. We’re working with a specialist school in Gateshead that supports children and young people with complex needs, and they’re looking for a Care Support Worker who can offer calm, consistent, person-centred care throughout the school day.
This isn’t a typical classroom role. You’ll be helping pupils with personal care, emotional regulation and daily routines, making sure they feel safe, comfortable and ready to learn. You’ll be part of a caring team who value empathy just as much as experience.
Your role will include:
• Providing personal care, movement support and sensory regulation
• Helping pupils access learning safely and confidently
• Following care plans and working closely with therapists and teachers
• Building trusting relationships with pupils who rely on routine
• Supporting communication, wellbeing and independence
• Creating a calm, reassuring environment during challenging moments
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
• Experience in care, support work, or working with vulnerable children or adults
• A caring, patient nature and a genuine interest in SEND
• Good communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
• A flexible, team-focused attitude
• Willingness to support personal care with dignity and respect
What you get with Protocol Education:
• Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella deductions
• A supportive consultant who’s with you from day one
• FREE access to our CPD training academy
• Opportunities across SEND, specialist provision and alternative settings
• Quick and friendly registration
• Referral rewards when you introduce a friend
