Care Assistant – Sunderland (Autism & Complex Needs)

Location: Sunderland

This role is perfect for someone who loves supporting young people with autism, sensory needs or communication differences. You’ll help create a calm, predictable environment where pupils can feel safe and ready to learn.

Daily duties:
• Supporting pupils with daily routines and sensory regulation
• Using visuals, PECS or simple communication strategies
• Offering gentle encouragement during lessons
• Building trusted, positive relationships

You’ll need:
• Care or SEND experience
• A nurturing, patient approach
• Willingness to work as part of a supportive, hands-on team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
