BSL Teaching Assistant – Sunderland Area
Pay: £89 to £110 per day
Start: ASAP
Contract: Long-term, full-time
If you use BSL confidently and love supporting autistic young people, this role will feel like a brilliant match for your skills.
We’re working with a specialist autism setting in the Sunderland area, looking for a caring BSL user to support pupils who communicate through sign, symbols and structured routines. You’ll help them access learning, feel understood and build confidence day by day.
Your role:
• Providing communication support using BSL
• Supporting pupils with sensory needs and structured tasks
• Using visual timetables and communication systems
• Working 1:1 or in small groups depending on pupil needs
We’d love to hear from people who:
• Use BSL (any level)
• Have experience/ take an interet in SEND, care or communication support
• Are patient, warm and consistent

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
