Job Description:

A college based in East London is seeking a dedicated and experienced Bricklayer Lecturer to join our School of Construction and Trades. This position offers a unique opportunity to share your expertise in bricklaying with aspiring tradespeople and contribute to their professional development. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching: Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on training in bricklaying techniques, masonry construction, and related subjects to students pursuing careers in construction.

  2. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the department to develop and update curriculum materials, ensuring alignment with industry standards and safety regulations.

  3. Lab Management: Oversee the organization and maintenance of bricklaying equipment and lab spaces, ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment.

  4. Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to students through advising, project supervision, and career counseling.

  5. Assessment: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.

  6. Safety: Promote and enforce safety protocols in the bricklaying lab and on job sites.

  7. Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends and advancements in bricklaying techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Teaching Qualification or Education degree
  • A college diploma or equivalent, with a strong preference for a recognized trade certification in bricklaying.
  • Significant experience as a skilled bricklayer in residential and/or commercial construction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.

Compensation:

The salary for this position ranges from £100 to £150 per day, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
