Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing behaviour management plans tailored to individual students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and external professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students develop coping strategies and positive behaviours to succeed academically and socially.
  • Monitor and record student progress, adapting strategies as needed.
  • Promote a positive and respectful classroom culture, supporting the school’s ethos and values.

About You:

  • A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them overcome challenges.
  • Experience working in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude towards challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques is a plus.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
