About the school:
Based in Chesterfield, this residential special school caters to children aged 11-16 years with severe social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Most students attending the school have behavioural difficulties and associated disorders which have caused problems in mainstream schools and led to exclusions. About the Role:
Working as a behavioural support assistant you will provide support for students with SEMH needs who may find it difficult or be reluctant to engage in education. This will include building rapport with students and creating positive relationships which influence them to regulate their behaviour. You will be part of a small team of 5 in charge of the safety and wellbeing 15-25 students (depending on time of year). Initially you will work on a temporary basis however the school will look to take you on a permanent contract after a period of transition.
