A specialist school is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant who can offer steady, patient guidance to pupils who may find the school day challenging. You’ll be part of a team that focuses on positive relationships, clear routines, and a supportive environment where pupils feel understood and able to succeed.
This is a rewarding role for someone who can stay calm under pressure and respond with empathy rather than judgement. You’ll work closely with staff to help pupils manage their emotions, re-engage with learning, and build confidence in a safe and structured setting.
What you’ll be doing

Supporting pupils on a one-to-one or small-group basis throughout the school day.

Using clear, consistent strategies to help pupils manage behaviour and regulate emotions.

Assisting teachers during lessons and transitions, helping pupils stay focused and settled.

Working with staff to follow behaviour support plans and monitor progress.

Encouraging positive communication, resilience, and self-confidence.

Good communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a wider support team.

Experience with behaviour support or SEND is helpful, but not essential, as training and guidance will be provided.
