Behaviour Support Assistant – Specialist SEND Setting

Location: South Tyneside
Contract: Full time, long term
Start: ASAP
Pay: £89 to £110 per day (PAYE)

If you’ve got strong behaviour management skills and a warm, firm approach, this specialist school would love you on board. You’ll support pupils who benefit from clear boundaries, consistency and lots of encouragement.

What the job involves:

  • Supporting pupils during challenging behaviour moments

  • Using de-escalation, co-regulation and low-arousal approaches

  • Helping pupils understand routines and expectations

  • Working closely with behaviour leads and SEND teams

  • Offering reassurance and structure throughout the school day

You’ll succeed if you:

  • Have experience in behaviour, SEMH or SEND

  • Can stay steady when situations escalate

  • Communicate clearly and kindly

  • Drive and can travel in the South Tyneside area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
