Behaviour Support Assistant – South Shields (PRU-Style Setting)
Start: ASAP or January
Contract: Full time
This provision offers a fresh start for pupils who’ve found mainstream settings overwhelming. They pride themselves on relationships first, curriculum second, and they’re looking for someone who can bring warmth, boundaries and consistency to the classroom.
You’ll be doing:
• Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• Using positive behaviour strategies and trauma-informed practice
• Helping pupils manage emotions and transitions
• Being part of a supportive team that puts wellbeing at the centre
You’ll need:
• Experience supporting challenging behaviour or SEMH
• A calm presence, even when things feel tricky
• Strong communication and resilience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
