Behaviour Support Assistant – Specialist SEND
Location: Sunderland
Contract: Full time, long term
Start: ASAP
Pay: £89 to £110 per day (PAYE)
This role is ideal for someone who’s confident supporting pupils with behaviour linked to anxiety, communication differences or emotional regulation. You’ll work alongside a skilled team using calm, steady and trauma-informed approaches.
Your daily tasks:

Supporting pupils during challenging moments with gentle co-regulation

Helping identify triggers and reducing anxiety
-
Using clear boundaries, visual routines and positive reinforcement
-
Keeping pupils engaged in safe, structured learning
-
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
You’ll be great if you:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
