Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant – Wolverhampton
£90–£100 per day | Full-time | September start

A school in Walsall is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to work with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a role where relationships matter—where your ability to build trust and create calm can make a genuine difference.
The role includes:
- Supporting students with SEMH needs, both 1:1 and in small groups
- Helping them regulate behaviour and re-engage with learning
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
- Creating a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural challenges
- Can stay calm under pressure and takes a trauma-informed approach
- Is confident, consistent and approachable
- Has a relevant background (e.g. teaching assistant, youth work, social care, psychology)
- Ideally holds Team Teach or Thrive training—or is willing to take it up (free through Protocol)
