Pay: £89–£104 per day (PAYE)

We’re looking for a caring and committed 1:1 SEMH Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Newcastle. You’ll be supporting a pupil who needs consistent emotional and learning support to feel safe, build trust, and thrive both in and out of the classroom.

What you’ll be doing:

Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs

Building positive relationships that promote confidence and resilience

Supporting learning, behaviour, and wellbeing throughout the school day

Using restorative and trauma-informed approaches to help pupils manage emotions

Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to deliver consistent, nurturing support
You’ll need:

Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (SEMH preferred)

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A genuine belief in the power of positive relationships
