About the Role
We’re recruiting a Behaviour Support Assistant for a Sunderland secondary school that offers strong mentoring and clear routines. You’ll be supporting pupils who need guidance regulating their emotions and staying engaged in learning.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building trusted relationships to support behaviour regulation
- Using de-escalation and restorative approaches in line with school policy
- Working with teachers to adapt tasks and reduce triggers
- Supporting pupils during transitions, unstructured times, and key lessons
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in youth work, pastoral support or SEND settings
- Ability to stay calm and consistent, even on busy days
- Confidence using positive behaviour strategies
- Someone who genuinely enjoys supporting young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
