We are working with a supportive and inclusive secondary school in North Tyneside to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and barriers to learning. The school has clear behaviour systems and a strong pastoral structure, providing a stable environment for both pupils and staff.

This role suits someone confident supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping them regulate emotions and re-engage with learning.

About the role

  • Provide targeted behaviour and SEMH support to pupils

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to support engagement and emotional regulation

  • Support pupils during lessons, interventions, and transition times

  • De-escalate challenging situations in line with school policies

  • Work closely with pastoral staff, SEN teams, and teaching staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
