Behaviour Support Assistant

Daily pay: £90–£100

Do you stay steady when things feel challenging? Are you good at building trust, setting boundaries and helping young people reset and refocus? This could be a role where your presence genuinely changes a student’s day.

We’re working with a large, well-structured secondary school where behaviour support is proactive, not reactive. Students are held to clear expectations, but they’re also supported when they struggle to meet them. Behaviour support staff are valued here, listened to, and treated as a vital part of the wider school team.

The role

  • Supporting students who need help managing behaviour and emotions

  • Working one-to-one or in small groups to de-escalate situations

  • Helping students return to learning calmly and confidently

  • Supporting consistent routines and expectations across the school

  • Working closely with pastoral teams, SEN staff and teaching colleagues

The school environment

This is a school with clear systems, strong leadership and a calm, purposeful atmosphere. Behaviour is managed consistently, giving students structure and staff the confidence to focus on teaching and support rather than constant crisis management.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in education, youth work or similar settings

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach

  • Confidence in setting boundaries with warmth and consistency

  • Someone who understands that behaviour is communication, not confrontation

Why this role works

  • Daily pay between £90 and £100

  • A meaningful, hands-on role where your impact is immediate

  • Support from experienced pastoral and leadership teams

  • Excellent experience for anyone considering teaching, psychology, youth work or counselling

If you’re someone who can stay calm under pressure and help young people get back on track, this is a role where your skills will be genuinely valued.
