Behaviour Mentor – South Shields

Are you someone who connects easily with young people and can stay calm under pressure?
We’re seeking a Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs in a specialist provision.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll use positive relationships, humour, and patience to guide pupils towards better engagement and self-management. No two days are the same — but every day makes a difference.
You’ll be:

Supporting pupils who struggle with behaviour, attendance or emotional regulation

Helping manage classroom routines and safe spaces

Working 1:1 with pupils to set achievable goals and celebrate progress

Encouraging personal growth through consistency, kindness, and clear boundaries
You’ll need:

Experience in education, youth work, or mental health support

Emotional resilience and a passion for inclusion
-
The ability to work as part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
