Location:

A specialist provision in the heart of Ealing are looking for Behaviour Mentors to support primary and secondary aged children that need support in the classroom but also need a mentor to support them with specific behavioural difficulties. 

Training Provided:

Protocol Education are in partnershop with Thrive and can offer a bespoke training course for staff looking to devleop their understanding of behaviour and how to be more supportive.

Job Description:

Job Duties:

The Behaviour Mentor will provide support and guidance to students who may display challenging behaviour. They will work closely with teachers and other staff to implement behaviour management strategies, assess student needs, and develop individualised support plans. The mentor will also monitor and track student progress, provide feedback to relevant stakeholders, and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Required Qualifications:

- Previous experience working with individuals displaying challenging behaviour

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Understanding of behaviour management techniques

Education:

A relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, or a related field is desirable

Experience:

Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies

- Ability to build rapport with students and establish positive relationships

- Strong problem-solving skills

- Understanding of safeguarding procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certification in behaviour management or related field

- Additional training in special educational needs (SEN)

Working Conditions:

The Behaviour Mentor will primarily work within a school setting, collaborating with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to support student development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
