I am recruiting on behalf of a mainstream Primary school in BD3 to help them appoint a Behaviour Mentor to work alongside a number of Key Stage 2 pupils who are becoming deregulated at break times and require a strong role model/mentor to engage them in activities and encourage good behaviour.

This is a unique and interesting position for a Primary school, where rather than supporting 1-1 with one individual pupil, you will be responsible for a small group across years 4, 5 and 6. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support students behaviour and learning in all aspects of school life. Providing a positive outlook and being supportive during lessons and help to deliver interventions as well as small group sessions where necessary.

The school have recently implemented a new behaviour policy and behaviour tracking system allowing you to fully track their improvements.

Behaviour Mentor Specification:

• Relevant degree to working with children/vulnerable adults and behavioural issues would be an advantage.
• Previous experience working with SEND, challenging behaviour, youth offending, youth work or sports coaching
• Strong GCSE results in English and Maths - good background subject knowledge
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and emphatic listening skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

If you have the ability to think on your feet and stay calm whilst dealing with challenging situations, this is a perfect opportunity for you to gain vital school experience in order to further your career in education!

• Right to work in the UK
