Are you interested in becoming a teacher? Do you want to gain paid experience in a secondary school.   

Protocol are recruiting for graduates with  an interest in teaching or educational psychology. No previous experience is required as you will be provided with on the job training and CPD to assist in the role. Accredited qualifications will also be available via Protocol Education. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to take their first steps working within the education sector as no previous experience is required. Roles available are full time (term time only), to begin immediately or in April 2021. If successful you will be likely required until the end of the academic year (July 2023). A number of our schools are hoping to offer  permanent contracts after this point.

Work will be available in schools across Tyne and Wear, including Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead, Sunderland and South Tyneside. As part of our service you will be allocated a dedicated consultant who will work to place you in an area of your choosing.

As part of your role, you will provide in class support to children with special educational needs (aged between 11-16) . You should be confident in your ability build a rapport with children. You will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of children.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a calm and consistent approach and understand how to respond to challenging behaviours
  • Hold a university degree 
  • Be able to work Monday-Friday (term time)
  • Have experience or a keen interest in working with children.
  • Be educated to degree level (all subjects will be considered)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
