Autism Teaching Assistant – Specialist Primary Setting
Location: Peterlee
Pay: £90–£110 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
This full-time Autism Teaching Assistant role supports pupils who thrive with routine, consistency and understanding.
You’ll work with children who need clear communication, predictable structure and patient support to access learning and school life. The setting values kindness, dignity and progress at each child’s pace.
Responsibilities include:
• 1:1 and small-group autism support
• Supporting transitions and routines
• Using visual and communication strategies
• Supporting sensory and emotional regulation
• Being a calm, consistent presence
Experience with autism is desirable but not essential, training and support are available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
