Autism Teaching Assistant, Full Time, Peterlee

Pay: £89 to £110 per day

A specialist SEND school in Peterlee is looking for a full-time Autism Teaching Assistant who understands how important structure, patience, and communication are for pupils with autism.

You’ll join a warm, well-organised team that puts pupils’ emotional wellbeing at the heart of the day. From visual timetables to sensory breaks, you’ll be part of creating a safe and predictable environment where pupils can flourish.

Your role will include
• Supporting pupils with autism on a 1:1 or small-group basis
• Using visual supports and communication tools
• Helping pupils regulate their emotions and stay engaged
• Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and therapists

• Experience with autism in school, care, or community settings

• Full-time availability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
