Autism Support Worker

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and competent Autism Support Worker to join a reputable SEN school in Newcastle that caters to pupils on the Autistic spectrum and with complex needs. This role is 5 days per week throughout the academic year, providing consistency for students to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children with autism on an individual and group basis.
  • Assisting with in-class activities and assignments.
  • Implementing effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Assisting students with their daily routines.
  • Creating and maintaining individualised Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs).

Requirements:

  • Experience as an Autism Teaching Assistant or Support Worker (preferred but not required).
  • A positive and encouraging attitude.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies.
