Protocol Education are seeking a resilient, caring, and enthusiastic ASC Teaching Assistant to work full-time within mainstream primary schools across Wakefield. We work closely with a range of supportive and welcoming schools that require dedicated staff to support pupils with ASC and other SEND needs.

About the Role
As an ASC Teaching Assistant in a mainstream primary setting, your responsibilities may include:

Providing 1:1 support for pupils with ASC

Working with small groups to support learning and social development
-
Delivering targeted intervention sessions to help raise attainment
-
Supporting pupils who may require additional help to regulate emotions and engage in learning

Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored strategies and support plans
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience supporting children (school-based or in alternative settings — not essential)
-
Personal or professional experience supporting individuals with ASC (desirable)
-
A calm, patient, and compassionate approach
-
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
-
Creativity to help engage and motivate pupils

Basic knowledge of core primary curriculum subjects
