We’re working with a specialist setting in Peterlee that provides outstanding education and care for children and young people with autism and additional learning needs. They’re seeking a calm, committed, and autism-aware Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting pupils with autism and communication differences in small, structured classrooms

Assisting with sensory regulation and learning activities

Building positive relationships that help each pupil feel safe and understood

Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver tailored support
What we’re looking for:

Experience supporting pupils with ASD or complex learning needs (school, care, or community setting)

A patient, consistent, and empathetic approach
-
Confidence working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
-
A full driving licence and access to a car (for a site change mid day)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
