Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ASD Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Basildon. The role involves working closely with students with ASD, providing tailored support to enhance their learning experience and help them achieve their full potential. This is a part-time position, focusing on morning sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with ASD in a classroom setting during morning sessions.
  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent support for students.
  • Monitor and record students' progress and report to the relevant staff members.
  • Support students with personal care needs, if required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education or ASD support is an advantage.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
