ASC Teaching Assistant – Primary (Sunderland)

Pay: £90–£110 per day (PAYE)

Are you calm, patient, and passionate about helping children with autism thrive in the classroom?

We’re looking for an experienced ASC Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary setting in Sunderland. You’ll be supporting pupils with autism and complex communication needs, helping them build confidence, develop life skills, and make genuine progress in a safe, structured environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASC

  • Assisting with sensory regulation and communication strategies

  • Working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver individualised learning plans

  • Supporting positive behaviour through clear routines and calm, consistent communication

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience supporting children with autism or other additional needs

  • A caring, proactive approach with excellent communication skills

  • Team Teach or Thrive training (bonus if you have it, but not essential)
