Are you a recent graduate and looking for your next challenge? Are you looking for experience to move into your chosen field? Whether you have a degree in Art, Drama, Psychology, or something unrelated, we have a number of positions available as a Learning Support Assistant to help you develop your experience whist gettng paid in a rewarding setting. This is an entry level position. No previous experince is required. Roles are to begin ASAP. 

You will be working in Secondary Schools in Newcastle upon Tyne as a Learning Support Assistant. You will use your transferable skills and creative flair to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are looking for creative graduates who are confident communicating with children, can think on their feet and reshape and adjust to situations well. Your interest in art or drama may be useful to promote emotional literacy and regulation.

Work will be available on a full time basis (Monday to Friday during term time only). We have roles to begin straight away. This is a fantastic opportunity for any graduate considering a career on teaching, educational psychology, art therapy or occupational therapy.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a University Degree/ transferable skills
  • Have a passion for teaching children
  • Be able to work Monday-Friday (term time)
  • Be able to support children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Hold an enhanced DBS/ be willing to obtain one
