Part-Time Art & Design Technology Teacher (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
Location: South Gloucestershire, secondary school
Contract: Term-time, 2 days per week

About the Role
We’re seeking a passionate Art & Design Technology teacher to join a friendly, diverse secondary school in the Patchway area on a part-time basis. You’ll teach on Tuesdays and Thursdays, working with a broad range of students, including those with additional learning needs and English as an Additional Language (EAL), and help to bring creativity to life in every corner of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver inspiring lessons in both Art and DT that engage students across Key Stages

  • Support students with a variety of needs — including in small groups and 1:1 settings

  • Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos, working alongside support teams to ensure all pupils feel welcomed and supported

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-disciplinary projects (e.g. combining textiles, graphics, or product design)

  • Participate in enrichment activities, such as the after-school DT and Textile clubs

Who We’re Looking For

  • Someone with a strong background in Art, Design Technology, or a related creative discipline

  • A teacher (or trainee) who is flexible, patient, and excited to work in a school that values every student’s journey

  • Someone who thrives in a diverse, rights-respecting environment

  • Previous experience is a bonus, but not essential — we welcome those who are creative thinkers and committed to inclusion

Why This Role Matters
This school’s mission is to equip every student with the skills and confidence to succeed — whether that’s heading to university or pursuing vocational routes. As a part-time Art & DT teacher, you’ll make a real impact by helping students express themselves, solve problems, and imagine their futures.

What’s In It for You

  • A supportive and collaborative school community

  • Flexible working pattern (just two days a week)

  • A chance to shape creative curriculum and enrichment

  • Opportunities to grow professionally in a school that is deeply committed to inclusion and student wellbeing
