4-Day Guaranteed Work TA – Autism & Communication Support

Location: Sunderland
Contract: Full time, long term, 4-day GWA
Start: ASAP
Pay: £89 to £110 per day (PAYE)

Love working with autistic pupils and want a consistent income? This SEND school is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant through our 4-day Guaranteed Work Scheme. You’ll become one of our go-to team members for a specialist provision that prides itself on structure, calm, and nurturing relationships.

Your role will include:

  • 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with autism

  • Helping pupils navigate sensory needs and transitions

  • Supporting communication through visuals, PECS, TEACCH and structured routines

  • Providing a steady presence that pupils can depend on

  • Working with therapists, experienced teachers and the SEND leadership team

To join the Guaranteed Work Scheme you must:

  • Drive and be able to travel confidently to different SEND classes within the school

  • Complete full clearing checks before starting

  • Be patient, empathetic and consistent

  • Have some experience with ASC, SEMH or complex needs

  • Be happy committing to 4 days every week without exception

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
