Role: Part-Time Art & DT Teacher – 2 days/week (Tues & Thurs)
Setting: Secondary school in South Gloucestershire

Why This Role Is a Great Opportunity
If you’re looking to build your teaching experience, this role offers a rare chance to shape both the Art and Design & Technology curriculum in a supportive, evolving school. You’ll teach in a setting where creativity and ambition go hand in hand — and where everyone is committed to inclusive education.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead creative and practical lessons in Art and DT, helping students develop design thinking and artistic skill

  • Work with a varied cohort, including students who speak English as an additional language, and those needing bespoke learning support

  • Design and run small-group or individual sessions tailored to specific learning needs

  • Support extra-curricular clubs (there’s already a thriving D&T club and textile club)

  • Contribute to the school’s inclusive culture, underpinned by a strong rights-respecting ethos

Who You Are

  • A qualified teacher (or working towards qualification) in Art, Product Design, or DT

  • Someone excited by both the creative and technical sides of design

  • Flexible and adaptable — ready to teach in different modes (whole class, small group, 1:1)

  • Committed to helping all students succeed, especially in a richly diverse school community

What You’ll Gain

  • Valuable part-time teaching hours that still let you maintain work-life balance

  • Opportunities to influence curriculum development and extra-curricular creative provision

  • Professional support from established teaching and support staff

  • A chance to be part of a school that values students’ rights and personal development as much as academic success
