Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene routines as needed
  • Support the pupil's educational and social development within the classroom environment
  • Implement individualised learning plans and strategies under the guidance of the SENCo
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Training or qualification in Teaching Assistant (TA) role
  • Understanding of ASD and strategies to support individuals with ASD

 

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

 

Experience:

Prior experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of EYFS curriculum and teaching methods
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding towards pupils with SEND

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher-level qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs
  • First Aid training

 

Working Conditions:

  • Temporary position with the possibility of extension
  • Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday
  • Work within a primary school in Louth, Lincolnshire
  • Close collaboration with teachers, SENCo, and other support staff
