1:1 Teaching Assistant

Daily pay: £90–£100

Are you patient, observant, and great at building trust one child at a time? This could be a role where your support makes all the difference to a pupil’s school day.

We’re working with a large, well-organised secondary school that puts inclusion and wellbeing at the heart of what it does. They’re looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil who needs consistent, calm guidance to access learning and feel confident in the classroom.

The role

  • Providing dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil during the school day

  • Helping the pupil stay engaged, regulated and ready to learn

  • Supporting learning activities under the direction of the class teacher

  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive routines

  • Working closely with SEN, pastoral staff and teaching teams

The school environment

This is a school with clear expectations, strong routines and a supportive culture. Staff communicate well, behaviour systems are consistent, and support staff are valued as part of the wider team, not an afterthought.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience supporting children or young people, ideally in a school or SEND setting

  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach

  • Confidence in building positive, professional relationships

  • Someone who understands that progress can be small, steady and incredibly meaningful

Why this role works

  • Daily pay between £90 and £100

  • A focused role where you can really get to know one pupil

  • Support from experienced SEN and pastoral teams

  • Valuable experience for anyone considering teaching, SEND support, psychology or youth work

If you’re someone who takes pride in helping a young person feel safe, supported and capable, this is a role where your work truly matters.
