We’re working with several primary schools across Southwark looking for caring, skilled, and reliable 1:1 Support Assistants. These full-time, long-term roles are all about building consistent, trusting relationships with pupils who need extra help to thrive in the classroom.

You’ll be the steady support helping children with additional needs feel safe, engaged, and ready to learn—one moment at a time.

What the role involves:

  • Supporting a child 1:1 with learning, behaviour, or emotional regulation

  • Using tailored strategies in collaboration with the SENCO and class teacher

  • Helping create an inclusive environment where every pupil can participate

  • Celebrating the small wins (which are actually the big ones)

You’ll need to bring:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND—autism, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs

  • A calm, flexible, and positive approach

  • Excellent communication and a big helping of patience

  • Thrive training is a plus—but if not, we’ll provide it free of charge

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
