At Protocol Education we are looking for caring, confident 1:1 Support Assistants across Durham who can help pupils with SEND feel safe, supported and ready to learn. What you’ll be doing as a 1:1 SEN Assistant
- Giving consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs
- Helping them access learning, routines and social moments
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider pastoral team
- Using calm communication and clear boundaries to build confidence
- Creating a safe, structured space where the pupil can thrive
- Supporting emotional regulation and modelling positive behaviour
Requirements for a 1:1 SEN Assistant
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- A patient, nurturing approach
- Someone who can think on their feet and adapt to individual needs
- Strong communication and a team-focused mindset
