Protocol Education are seeking a  1:1 SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a Primary School in Stanford Le Hope for September. Experience with Autism and Non verbal children beneficial.

East of England, Essex, Stanford Le Hope SS17

Job Type:

Temporary, Full-Time hours 8.30am - 3.15pm

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a primary school student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who is non-verbal and can display challenging behaviour
  • Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs)
  • Support the student in accessing the curriculum and classroom activities
  • Help the student develop social and communication skills
  • Monitor and record the student's progress and behaviour
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the student's needs are met
  • Assist with some personal care

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Experience in a primary school setting
  • Understanding of non-verbal communication strategies
  • Ability to provide individualised support and adapt to the student's needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of strategies to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding
  • Collaborative work with teachers, parents, and other professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
