Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
  • Support the teacher in delivering lessons and activities, adapting materials as necessary
  • Help students with personal care and mobility, if required
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and SENCO

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
  • Good understanding of safeguarding procedures

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with students and create a supportive learning environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in supporting students with specific learning difficulties

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily within a school setting
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
  • Potential for occasional additional hours or training sessions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
