Job Duties:

  • Providing one-to-one support to students with special educational needs
  • Assisting students in their academic and personal development
  • Implementing individual education plans as directed by the SENCO
  • Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties
  • Collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Experience:

At least 1 year of experience in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SEN-specific qualification
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily within a school setting
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work for school events
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
