Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an educational setting
  • Assist students with their learning and development according to their individual education plans
  • Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for SEN students
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to implement strategies to support SEN students
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid DBS check
  • Previous experience working with SEN students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs

Education:

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths
  • Additional qualifications in Special Education or Teaching Assistance are desirable

Experience:

  • Experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Demonstrated ability to support students with SEN effectively

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of various Special Educational Needs and associated support strategies
  • Knowledge of relevant educational policies and procedures
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Training in areas such as Makaton, PECS, or Team-Teach

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily within a school setting
  • Full-time hours, typically Monday to Friday
  • Temporary position with the possibility of extension
