Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant with SEMH

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Support students in their academic and social development
  • Help manage challenging behaviour effectively
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to ensure student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs

Education:

Educated to at least GCSE level

Experience:

Prior experience working in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning
  • Ability to build rapport with students and provide emotional support
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Good behaviour management techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Additional training in managing challenging behaviour

Working Conditions:

This role may involve working in a classroom environment with students who require additional support. The work hours are full-time and temporary in nature.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
