Job Description:

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant with High Needs, you will be responsible for providing dedicated support to a student with special educational needs in a school setting. Your primary role will involve assisting the student in accessing the curriculum, providing personal care as required, and helping them to develop essential skills for learning and daily living.

Job Duties:

  • Supporting the student with their individual learning needs
  • Implementing strategies outlined in the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • Assisting with personal care tasks, if necessary
  • Helping the student to engage in classroom activities and maintain focus
  • Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the student's progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant SEN qualifications or experience
  • Valid DBS check

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support them
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Training in manual handling and personal care

Working Conditions:

You will be based within a school environment, working closely with the student and school staff. The role may involve some physical activity and personal care duties. Working hours are typically school hours, Monday to Friday.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
