Job Duties:
- Provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who exhibit challenging behaviours
- Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
- Assist with classroom activities and support the overall learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure the well-being and progress of students
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour incidents
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with challenging behaviours
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and de-escalate challenging situations
- Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
Experience:
Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of various SEN conditions and their impact on learning
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specific training in supporting students with challenging behaviours
- Certification in first aid and/or safeguarding
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily within a school setting
- May involve handling challenging behaviour and emotional situations
- Full-Time hours, temporary position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
