Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who exhibit challenging behaviours
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
  • Assist with classroom activities and support the overall learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure the well-being and progress of students
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour incidents

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with challenging behaviours
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and de-escalate challenging situations
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies

Experience:

Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of various SEN conditions and their impact on learning
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specific training in supporting students with challenging behaviours
  • Certification in first aid and/or safeguarding

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily within a school setting
  • May involve handling challenging behaviour and emotional situations
  • Full-Time hours, temporary position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
