We’re recruiting for passionate individuals in Newcastle who want to build meaningful connections with children and help them thrive in school. This Trainee Teaching Assistant role is the perfect way to get started in education. You’ll be supporting pupils 1:1 and working alongside experienced teaching staff who will guide you every step of the way.

If you’re calm, caring, and ready to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

What the role involves:

  • Supporting a child with additional needs to help them engage, learn, and grow

  • Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt support as needed

  • Helping with day-to-day classroom tasks and pupil participation

  • Offering encouragement, structure, and calm reassurance

  • Developing your skills with hands-on experience in a friendly school setting

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Brings a positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Has a calm, supportive nature and enjoys working with children

  • Can work well as part of a team and follow guidance

  • Is keen to make a difference in the lives of pupils with additional needs

Experience isn’t essential—if you’ve supported children in any setting (youth work, care, coaching, or even informally), we’d love to hear about it.
