1:1 SEN Support Assistant

Pay: £90–£110 per day (PAYE – NO umbrella companies)
Location: Newham
Contract: Daily Supply

Are you the kind of person who can stay calm in chaos, connect with young people who’ve had a tough journey, and bring patience into every moment? If that sounds like you, this daily supply 1:1 SEN Support Assistant role in a Newham PRU could be such a rewarding fit.

We’re looking for someone who can be that steady, reliable adult for one pupil aged 12–19. Our pupils need someone who can provide consistency, reassurance, and a calm presence to help them get the best out of each day.

The Role

You’ll be providing dedicated 1:1 support to a student with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Your encouragement, structure, and understanding will help them feel safe, settled, and ready to engage with learning.

Your day might include:

  • Offering calm, consistent 1:1 support in lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
  • Using agreed strategies to help the pupil manage emotions and behaviour
  • Encouraging confidence, communication, and independence
  • Helping create a stable, positive learning environment
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and the SEN team to keep support consistent

You’ll be that person they can rely on, the one who sticks with them even when things feel challenging.

What the PRU Offers

  • A genuinely supportive and welcoming staff team
  • Clear behaviour systems and strong SEND guidance
  • A nurturing, relationship-based culture
  • Opportunities for ongoing training and development

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting young people, ideally within SEN, SEMH, or PRU settings
  • A calm, grounded approach during challenging moments
  • Great communication skills, empathy, and resilience
  • A real passion for helping young people feel understood, safe, and supported

What You’ll Receive

  • Weekly PAYE pay (NO Umbrella Companies)
  • Access to free online CPD
  • Ongoing support from your dedicated consultant
  • Local opportunities across Newham and surrounding boroughs
  • A smooth, straightforward registration process

If this sounds like your kind of role, I’d love to chat through next steps and help you get started. Just hit apply!
