Some children just need that one steady person in their corner.

If you’re calm under pressure, big on patience, and believe that every child deserves to feel understood, this could be your next role.

We’re working with nurturing primary schools across Lambeth who are looking for dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistants to work closely with individual pupils who need a little extra help to thrive.

This is a full-time, long-term position. Five days a week. Real consistency. Real impact.

Your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs

  • Supporting children with autism, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs

  • Helping regulate emotions and manage transitions

  • Adapting classroom tasks so learning feels achievable

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

You’ll be the calm voice when things feel overwhelming. The familiar face at the start of each day. The person who notices the small breakthroughs others might miss.

And trust us, those small breakthroughs are everything.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with SEND, in school or care settings

  • Stays patient, even on the tricky days

  • Builds trust naturally

  • Understands that progress isn’t always linear

  • Can commit to five days a week, long-term

Team Teach or de-escalation training is a bonus, but not essential. We can support with further training along the way.

What the school offers:

  • Supportive leadership and clear safeguarding processes

  • Ongoing training in SEND and behaviour support

  • A welcoming, inclusive team

  • A structured, well-supported environment

What you’ll get from Protocol Education:

  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies

  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy

  • A dedicated consultant who actually picks up the phone

  • Opportunities in mainstream and specialist settings

  • Streamlined registration and local placements

  • Referral scheme, earn rewards for referring friends

This isn’t just classroom support. It’s confidence-building. It’s trust-building. It’s life-shaping work.
