Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN LSA (Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant) to work with students with Autism in the East of England, specifically in Brentwood, Essex. This is a temporary position requiring full-time hours within the Education and Training industry.

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored support and assistance to students with Autism on a one-to-one basis
  • Implement individual education plans and behavioural strategies
  • Assist with classroom activities and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress
  • Monitor and track student development and communicate effectively with the SENCO

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience working with individuals with Autism and SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow and implement individual education and behaviour plans
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Knowledge of Autism spectrum disorder and SEN practises
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Training in Autism awareness and strategies

Working Conditions:

The role of 1:1 SEN LSA - Autism involves working within a classroom setting, collaborating with teachers and other professionals, and providing individual support to students with Autism. The position is temporary and requires full-time hours, with the potential for extension based on performance and school requirements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
