Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) specifically focusing on Autism
  • Implement individualised education plans and strategies to support the learning and development of students
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to address the unique needs of each student
  • Document and report on student progress and behaviour

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with Autism and SEN
  • Understanding of SEN policies and procedures
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Knowledge of Autism and strategies to support individuals with Autism
  • Strong behaviour management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SEN qualification or relevant training
  • First Aid certification
  • Experience using Makaton or PECS

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
