We’re looking for a steady, resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to support a KS3 pupil with SEMH needs. This role suits someone who can remain calm under pressure and understands that behaviour is communication.

You’ll support the pupil throughout the school day, using de-escalation strategies, structured check-ins, and clear boundaries to help them feel safe and supported in school.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups within the classroom

  • Helping children access learning in a way that works for them

  • Supporting emotional regulation, routines and positive behaviour

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams

  • Building strong relationships that help pupils feel safe and confident

This role is ideal if you:

  • Hold a degree in any subject

  • Are considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, SEN or mental health

  • Are calm, empathetic and good at building rapport

  • Want practical experience that goes beyond textbooks

  • Enjoy working with people and being part of a supportive team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
