Do you light up when a pupil finally cracks a tricky task or smiles because they feel understood? A wonderful SEND school in Durham is looking for a caring 1:1 Learning Support Assistant who can offer calm, consistent support to a pupil who needs someone firmly in their corner.
This role is all about relationship building. You’ll be the trusted grown-up who helps a child feel safe enough to learn, confident enough to try and supported enough to keep going, even on tougher days.
What the role involves

Working 1:1 with a pupil who needs tailored emotional and learning support

Helping them navigate routines, transitions and new tasks

Supporting communication, confidence and engagement

Collaborating with teachers, therapists and the SENCO so everyone stays on the same page

Creating simple strategies that help the pupil feel grounded and ready to learn
