We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to work as a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with complex medical needs. The position is based at a Doncaster school for Protocol Education.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 1:1 support to the student throughout the school day. This will involve:

  • Assisting with the use of a feed tube to ensure the student receives proper nutrition during the day
  • Providing personal care for the student, including toileting and hygiene needs
  • Supporting the student's learning and development in line with the school's curriculum and the student's individual education plan
  • Working collaboratively with the classroom teacher and other support staff to ensure the student's needs are met
  • Maintaining accurate records of the student's progress and any incidents or concerns that arise
  • Adhering to the school's policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, safeguarding, and confidentiality

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children with complex medical needs and/or disabilities
  • Knowledge of the use of feed tubes and personal care procedures
  • An understanding of the principles of special education and the ability to support students with a range of learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
